TAMPA, Fla.—Tampa ranked 3rd for Wallet Hub’s 2019’s Most Pet-Friendly Cities. The study analyzed 100 of the largest cities in the U.S. based off the following metrics:
- Pet Budget (i.e. vet care costs, dog insurance)
- Pet Health and Wellness (i.e. vets per capita, doggie daycares per capita)
- Outdoor Pet-Friendliness (i.e. weather, walk score, dog parks per capita)
Two Florida cities ranked in the Top 5.
- Scottsdale, AZ
- Orlando, FL
- Tampa, FL
- Austin, TX
- Phoenix, AZ
Tampa tied for first with five other cities for most veterinarians per capita and ranked in the top ten for the pet budget category. Other Florida cities to make the list are Miami (#26), St. Petersburg (#36), Hialeah (#60) and Jacksonville (#72).
